SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Human Services has launched a website to help citizens better understand cannabis.
LetsTalkCannabisIL.com, which went live on Friday, contains health and safety information regarding pot, which became legal on Jan. 1 to smoke in the state.
IDHS Division of Substance Abuse and Recovery Director Dani Kirby said the website has lots of useful information…
“Clear and objective facts,” she said.
“What the law inclues and doesn’t include, what’s legal and not legal, and information about safe use.”
Illinois became the 11th state to legalize pot.
Kirby said it was advantageous not to be the guinea pigs.
“We’ve learned from other states when legal cannabis launches, there’s often a lot of questions,” she said.
“We see a lot of chatter, even now, on social media.
“We just wanted to have everything in one place.”
The website also contains downloadable fact sheets that can be freely distributed.
