PEORIA, Ill. — With Governor J.B. Pritzker’s mandate events that draw 1,000 or more people must be postponed for 30 days starting March 12 and with a nod to precautions, the Peoria Civic Center will be busy rescheduling events it had planned.
“Right now, we have Baby Shark Live, Foreigner, Blue Man Group, Aaron Lewis, and REO Speedwagon through the end of the month that are going to move to different dates,” said Rik Edgar, General Manager.
“That’s what’s going on across the country. As pretty much everyone understands, the touring industry is going to take a little break right now.
“We’re all taking a step of caution and want to make sure we know what to expect, so right now relationships with promoters have been fantastic, and everyone is in this together, and we’re just trying to wait until we feel like it’s a safer place to come to until we get past this COVID-19 issue.”
The Southern Professional Hockey League, the league home to the Peoria Rivermen, has suspended its season until further notice.
Reba McEntire, expected to top KISS’s record revenue-setting show from early in 2020, has postponed her spring tour until the summer.
Her Peoria stop has shifted from May 8 to Aug. 7.
