PEORIA, Ill — A statewide school closure for grades K-12 to minimize the spread of COVID-19 is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 17.
Peoria Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat stated Friday evening that Peoria District 150 schools will close a day earlier, beginning Monday, March 16.
The regularly scheduled spring break will then take place from Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27.
Monday, March 30 will be the final E-Learning day at home for PPS students.
All staff of Peoria Public Schools should report to work 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, March 16 in order to finalize plans.
Dr. Kherat said the school district will continue to evaluate and monitor options in a proactive manner.
