PEORIA, Ill. — OSF implementing visitor restrictions at OSF HealthCare, Saint Francis Medical Center, and OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois during the seasonal flu season and COVID-19 outbreak.
The changes include:
All visitors are discouraged from visiting the hospital.
No more than one visitor per patient will be allowed in the facility.
Exceptions include end-of-life care and childbirth.
Visitors must be healthy. It is recommended to not visit if displaying flu-like symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, and vomiting.
While health risks from cold and flu remain high, these restrictions are to protect hospitalized patients. The measures also serve as a preventative for the spread of COVID-19.
