Update: Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the victim as 28-year-old Roosevelt Hunter III, of Peoria.
“He was identified through picture by family members,” Harwood said.
Autopsy findings on Hunter demonstrated that he suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body. Based on these findings and examination, he likely died instantly, according to the coroner.
Range of fire and caliber of weapon is not being released at this time.
The case remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department.

PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police are investigating the city’s 12th homicide of the year.
Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert just after 11 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of North Hillyer, indicating five rounds were fired. Additionally, a caller said they heard shots being fired inside an apartment complex.
“Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who was unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 700 block of N. Shipman. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, with at least one gunshot wound,” Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said.
Police have no suspects at this time.
