PEORIA, Ill. — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a February shooting on W. Trewyn.
Peoria Police were initially called at 4:18 A.M. on Feb. 6 to the 2700 block of the street because of a ShotSpotter alert that indicated multiple rounds had been fired.
They found a man inside an apartment who’d been shot in the back. He was taken to a hospital but was in stable condition.
Police found out the victim had been sitting inside a vehicle at the time he was shot, a crime carried out by two people in a vehicle who pulled into the lot and opened fire on the man.
A 16-year-old was arrested Feb. 9 for unlawful possession of a firearm, no FOID, unlawful use of a weapon, and aggravated battery.
A second suspect, 23-year-old Dimetrious Ivy, was arrested this past Wednesday after an interview. He was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, no FOID, and aggravated battery, and taken to Peoria County Jail.
