DUNLAP, Ill. (25 News) – The Village of Dunlap celebrated its 150th birthday.
A celebration took place Saturday at Central Park featuring food, music, art displays and activities for people of all ages.
The village was founded by Alva and Mary Dunlap and was officially established in June, 1871.
Residents were thrilled to see the entire community come together for the event.
“The things to do here, the interesting things and places to see and go and visit. The scenery is fabulous this time of year. It’s all green everywhere you look,” said Dunlap resident Tom Byrom.
“The people are just wonderful. They are just the best people you’re ever going to meet.”
The partying is not over yet. “Dunlap Days” will take place August 26-28.
