PEORIA, Ill. – A South Pekin woman faces federal charges for allegedly lying while buying a gun.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Kristin Sue Jackson, 39, was indicted September 21st and arrested two days later on a charge of Making a False Statement.
Prosecutors allege Jackson bought a gun from Pekin Gun and Sporting Goods in May, and knowingly made a false statement claiming she was the actual buyer of the firearm.
It’s not clear who she might have been buying the gun for.
Jackson is in U.S. Marshalls custody. She could face as much as five years in prison if she’s convicted.
