PEORIA, Ill. – If you’re looking to get out of town Saturday or tomorrow (Sunday), you might want to make the short drive over to Fulton County.
The annual Spoon River Scenic Drive is in the final weekend of its annual event the first two weekends of October, according to Peoria-Area Covnention and Visitors Bureau CEO JD Dalfanso.
“It’s a staple for Central Illinois, and those in Fulton County take great pride in it,” said Dalfanso. “Everybody will travel in. I know my mother-in-law is thrilled about it, and she’ll make it. There’s pro tips for it, too. Those that have been before…you’ve got to go early.”
Dalfanso tells WMBD’s The Greg and Dan Show community organizations, local artisans, and churches all make and sell food, crafts, and other wares at each of the various communities in Fulton County.
The annual Knox County Scenic Drive is also this weekend.
You can also go to the Wheels O’ Time Museum in Dunlap for its own Fall Festival going on Sunday.
“Spoon River is a great family event. This is also a great one,” said Dalfanso. “Lots for the kids. So, if you’ve got young families out there, just head out there. Whether you have young families or not, it gives them opportunities to really do something as well.”
The Wheels O’ Time museum Fall Festival is from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
You can go to Peoria.org to find out details about those and other events going on this weekend.
