PEORIA, Ill. – New charges are filed in the case of a Peoria man who caused a police standoff earlier in the month.
Our news partner 25 News reports Lamarcus Chappell, 30, will be arraigned Thursday on charges of Attempted Murder, Home Invasion, and Aggravated Battery.
Chappell, when he was arrested on October first, had not faced the attempted murder charge.
Police went to a home in the Aspen Bluff apartment compled on Lavalle Court for what was believed to be a domestic incident.
Chappell allegedly fired at police when they arrived, and a woman inside the apartment also suffered gunshot wounds, all before he surrendered.
Five minors inside the home at the time weren’t hurt.
