PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria saw nearly four inches of rain on Sunday, which broke the daily rainfall record of 1.32 inches for October 24, set back in 1975, according to news partner 25 News.
Sunday’s rain also contributed to the second wettest October on record for Peoria with up to 8.1 inches of rain from the beginning of the month.
Though the Peoria metro area received a ton of rain and a few strong thunderstorms, it was mostly spared the brunt of severe weather that hit other areas of the state Sunday night.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday morning for the Peoria area.
There were spotty power outages Monday morning in the area according to Ameren’s Outage map.
