Peoria, Ill — Peoria Police are launching a death investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body on Wednesday.
Officers say they got called to a home along North Dechman Avenue, just off Knoxville and East Nebraska Avenue.
When they arrived shortly before 1 p.m., police say they found a woman dead with “obvious trauma to her body”.
Police say it was a possible suicide, but an investigation is still ongoing.
Police say the Peoria County Coroner is expected to release more details and an official cause of death in the coming days.
A news release from PPD says there is “no suspect information”, but they’re asking tipsters to call police with any information on the case.
