CHICAGO, Ill. – The FBI is still trying to get help in figuring out what happened that led to the death of Illinois State University grad student Jelani Day.
Now, our news partner 25 News reports a $10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
Tips can be made anonymously by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI.
The “Jelani Day Joint Task Force” is also rolling a nationwide social media campaign.
Day was reported missing August 25th, and found two weeks later in the Illinois River in LaSalle County. A cause of death was listed as drowning, but the manner of death has yet to be determined.
The Day investigation has garnered national attention, including attention from Reverend Jesse Jackson, and television attention including on the Doctor Oz program and on cable’s NewsNation network.
