First UK patient has died from omicron variant

LONDON (Reuters) – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Monday the first patient had died after contracting the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, Sky news reported.

The British Health secretary said the Omicron variant is accounting for nearly 40% of infections in London.

The U-K has put stronger restrictions in place because of the variant…with the Prime Minister adding everyone should be getting a booster shot.
