“We are a long way from opening all of the floors of the Dream Center.”
Those are some of the words of Dream Center Peoria, posted to social media Friday, following the Wednesday accident where sprinklers were set off, causing flooding in some of the sleeping areas and office space.
Officials say all the homeless residents along with residents of The Village were able to return late Thursday afternoon, but the third floor remains not usable.
So they’re converting the homeless day shelter area on the fourth floor into a sleeping area.
Dream Center says they’ve received donations and offers of help from throughout Central Illinois and around the country.
