Peoria, Ill — A local police officer is being treated for injuries sustained in a crash that slowed traffic on I-74 last (Wednesday) night.
It happened around 9:45 p.m. at milepost 95 in East Peoria.
Illinois State Police say an East Peoria Police officer was working traffic control from a previous crash when another car collided with the officer’s patrol cruiser.
The officer was inside of the vehicle at the time.
Paramedics took them to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Traffic is now back to normal at that location.
No further details on a suspect driver or vehicle were released.
