GALESBURG, Ill. – Police have reportedly been investigating threats and vandalism made surrounding the closure of a local hospital.
Our news partner 25 news — through sister station KWQC — reports police in Galesburg on January 8th investigated the bomb threat. That’s the same day the hospital closed after the feds announced they were pulling Medicare and Medicaid funding over alleged violations.
Police claim there also was vandalism to upper floors and windows at the hospital, and that the hospital owner’s nameplate was taken out of his office and put on the door to the hospital’s morgue.
The wife of the Michigan-based hospital owner also told police her life was threatened by a former employee — something that person denies.
No arrests have been made.
