Melbourne, AU (FOX News) — The U.S. government estimates that about 30,000 Americans are in Ukraine.
At a meeting with members of the Quad Nations in Melbourne, Australia, Secretary of State Antony Blinkin reiterated Thursday the threat of a Russian incursion into Ukraine, with over 100,000 Russian troops stationed just outside Ukraine.
Blinkin said it could happen at any moment.
“We continue to see very troubling signs of Russian escalation, including new forces arriving at the Ukrainian border. And as we said before, we’re in a window when an invasion could begin at any time,” Blinkin said.
Blinkin and President Joe Biden are calling on all American diplomats and their families in Ukraine to leave now.
Russia wants NATO to keep Ukraine out of the alliance. NATO and the U-S refuse to meet that demand, supporting sovereignty and independence for Ukraine.
