PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man who allegedly got into a shooting match with police a few weeks ago is pleading not guilty.
Carlos Jones, 43, made an appearance in Peoria County Circuit Court Thursday, where he was arraigned on two counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
Jones — arrested February 3rd — allegedly traded shots with Peoria Police during an incident a few days earlier on East McClure.
Because Peoria Police fired shots as well, Illinois State Police took over the investigation.
Jones is jailed on $1 million bond. He’ll be back in court in late-April, with a trial by jury possibly starting May 9th.
