PEORIA, Ill. — A ver busy night for Peoria Police Wednesday included several reported shooting incidents and one woman was reportedly found shot and seriously injured.
PPD has released more details about their ongoing anti-violence efforts in the city.
They say ShotSpotter alerts went out in three separate locations across Peoria’s South Side Wednesday night.
Details from a news release indicate there may have been some kinda of sporadic or ongoing gun violence, starting around 10:45 p.m., but it’s unclear and unconfirmed.
Ultimately, at a location along South Greenlawn Avenue just off Lincoln, officers found two shot-up cars and a woman lying in the street with a bullet wound to the leg.
She was taken to the hospital.
Police say there are no suspects at this time.
Earlier in the day, police say officers conducted roughly three dozen traffic stops, making several arrests related to drug violations and vehicle thefts.
