PEORIA, Ill. –Peoria fire officials say one person is injured in the wake of a house fire late Saturday.
It happened at a home in the 3800 block of West Hearthwood Avenue in some neighborhoods in the Alta area off of North Knoxville Ave.
Firefighters say they arrived to find a stairwell almost completely engulfed in flame inside the home.
They pulled one victim out in time and then worked to contain the fire from that point.
Damage to the home is estimated at $175,000.
An exact cause of for the blaze is still unknown.
