PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria area got lucky Saturday, when a round of strong to severe thunderstorms seemed to pick up strength as they crossed the Illinois River and left here.
The National Weather Service in Lincoln did have some Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Saturday in Tazewell County and points east, but no big problems.
The only major item of note anywhere in this part of Central Illinois, aside from gusty winds and reports of hail, was a reported tornado touching down in the McLean County town of Colfax, but reportedly left no damage.
Chances of rain return to the forecast Monday night, continuing through most of the work week.
