UPDATE (4:30 a.m.) – Several cabins were a total loss after fire tore through buildings at Grand Bear Resort near Starved Rock State Park late Monday afternoon.
Utica Assistant Fire Chief Drew Partain said seven villa units were lost to fire.
As of Monday night, the fire was not completely under control, but was contained.
Partain said the fire call came in as a porch on fire at one of the cabins. When fire fighters arrived, two cabins were fully involved.
Strong winds made it hard for crews to fight the fire. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
More details are expected to come at a news conference Tuesday at 11 a.m.
