PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police are announcing details in two attempted murder arrests linked to a shooting from weeks ago.
This is in connection to a shooting at the Hedgehill Apartments in Peoria on April 12 that left a man and woman with serious gunshot wounds.
The female victim suffered critical injuries.
Officers say local investigators, aided by the U.S. Marshals Service have found and arrested 18-year-old Jontarique White in Peoria.
According to a news release, officers caught up with him in the 3000 block of West Carmel Ave. in a neighborhood off West Charter Oak Ave.
A second alleged suspect, identified as 19-year-old Jahmahn Williams, was reportedly taken into custody in Houston, Texas and will be extradited back to Peoria.
Both men face charges of First Degree Attempted Murder.
At one point in the investigation, local police had asked the public for help in locating both men. It’s unclear if the public’s input had any bearing on the outcome.
