EAST PEORIA, Ill. — We’re learning more about a bad motorcycle crash late Memorial Day Monday in East Peoria.
It turns out the crash was fatal.
East Peoria Police initially responded to the scene along East Washington Street near Carver Lane just before 10 p.m. Monday.
22-year-old motorcyclist Blake J. Adams, of Scenic Bluff Drive in East Peoria, was found unresponsive and not breathing.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Adams was transported to OSF Healthcare in critical condition.
Ultimately, he was pronounced brain dead yesterday afternoon even after “aggressive resuscitative efforts and care”.
Adams’ cause of death was due to severe blunt force head trauma
He was reportedly wearing a helmet.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the East Peoria Police Department and a toxicology report is still pending.
