PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say they found the man they believe was responsible for a shooting in the area of Taft Homes, pretty much back in the same area.
Police say officers spotted Shyheim Chapai, 27, Tuesday night on Northeast Adams Street, identified him as a suspect, and arrested him.
A shooting outside Taft Homes around 9:00 p.m. June 2 resulted in damage being done to two cars and an apartment building, but no one was hurt.
Chapai faces charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
That was the second shooting in that area last Thursday, as one also near Taft Homes put two people in the hospital around 5:00 p.m.
A PPD spokesperson says no arrests have been made in that shooting.
