DUNLAP, Ill. – The Dunlap Public Library Board is green-lighting changes to library policy regarding registered sex offenders.
This, after a patron’s privileges were suspended for 60 days when that person was allegedly caught printing photos of minors last month.
Among policy changes, sex offenders can’t hang around in doorways, and can’t use the computers in the youth services area.
The library is also buying more cameras and privacy screens, and will be moving a printer so that it’s closer to staff members.
While the offender’s name has been circulated in public, we will not use it, as that circulation was the result of alleged improper sharing of confidential patron data.
