PEORIA, Ill. – Pekin-based Reditus Labs CEO Aaron Rossi is in more trouble with federal law.
A federal grand jury Wednesday charged Rossi with six counts of Mail Fraud. That’s in addition to the three counts of Filing a False Tax Return he already faced.
The superseding indictment accuses Rossi of defrauding Central Illinois Orthopedic Surgery in Bloomington of over $1,000,000 in a four year period.
It also lists items Rossi allegedly bought for himself in 2017 using company money.
Sources close to Rossi tell 25 News some of the accusations are a “ridiculous overreach,” and a spokesperson for Rossi calls them “minor”, and that the government is intervening in a private dispute.
Rossi is scheduled to go to federal trial September 26th in the Quad Cities, as that’s the home of this federal court district’s chief judge.
He also still faces civil lawsuits in Tazewell County.
