Two Pekin residents charged with an attempted murder are pleading not guilty.
Tazewell County Court records indicate Gage Burgess, 21, and Savannah McKinley, 19, were arraigned Thursday on the Attempted Murder count, along with counts of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery.
They were arrested earlier this month, for the alleged beating of a 63-year-old man July 12th at a home on Broadway in Pekin.
25 News reports there were twelve separate points on the man’s body where skin was broken. He also had some broken fingers and broken ribs, and required treatment for head injuries.
The two claimed they were retaliating against the man for an alleged sexual assault.
Burgess and McKinley will be back in court September 8th, with a potential trial the following month.
