PEORIA, Ill. – We’re learning more about one of two separate shootings that happened in South Peoria during the mid-afternoon hours Thursday.
Peoria Police say the first shooting happened before near Western and Wiswall, with a SpotSpotter alert indicating 23 rounds fired.
Police say a female was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound, but it’s not expected to be life-threatening.
Officers arrested Jay’vion Lee, 22, after he ran into a nearby home. He faces charges of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
Meanwhile, Peoria Public Information Officer Semone Roth says no one was shot following a ShotSpotter alert indicating 18 rounds fired around 1:30 p.m. on West Antionette.

UPDATED 2:22 P.M.
PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police are investigating at least two mid-afternoon shootings Thursday, with at least one person so far seriously injured.
Police confirm a ShotSpotter alert of 23 shots being fired in the 800 block of South Western Ave. before 1:30 p.m. Thursday. A juvenile female is believed to be taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound in the back shoulder area. Police are searching for a black male suspect.
The second report came in just after 1:30 p.m., and involved 18 rounds being fired in the 2300 block of West Antionette. No word yet of any victims or injuries.
Western Avenue was reopened to traffic about an hour after the first shooting.
