PEORIA, Ill. – A Pekin man will spend the next decade in prison after being found to have methamphetamine and cocaine in his possession.
Court records indicate Cody Mammen, 32, was sentenced Thursday by a federal judge to 120 months in federal prison along with five years of parole after pleading guilty in March to charges of Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says in early March, Bartonville Police officers pulled Mammen’s vehicle over, discovering a black fanny pack with plastic bags in it.
Mammen admitted there were drugs in there — found to be over 100 grams of meth, over 27 grams of cocaine, and almost a thousand dollars in cash.
Mammen faced up to life in prison on the meth charge alone. Ten years is the minimum sentence.
