PEORIA, Ill. – OSF HealthCare and Bradley University are expanding what essentially is a multi-million dollar health care partnership.
A newly-signed deal between the two will create opportunities to collaborate on medical research — with Bradley being the first private university in the country to have such a partnership.
“One of the things that we found in our research is the importance of today’s students to be able to address the world’s biggest problems,” said Stephan Standifird, President, Bradley University, in a news release. “A degree Yes, a career Yes, but they want more than that. They want to have an impact. They want to be able to do things that transform the society around them.”
Standifird says the new five year, $1 million per year “Innovation for Health” partnership will do just that.
“[Students] see that as a great learning opportunity,” said Bob Sehring, CEO, OSF HealthCare, in a news release. “So let’s get them here. Let’s get them invested in Peoria. Let’s get them invested in Bradley and OSF in the community. And we hope that we keep them for a lifetime.”
The partnership, Sehring says, aims to connect faculty from Bradley’s five colleges with clinical researchers from OSF innovation to address health care challenges.
The first round of up to $50,000 in awards for research proposals will be released soon.
