PEORIA, Ill. – Two Peoria residents are jailed after arrests Wednesday — one involving an assault, one involving a shooting.
Peoria Police say Eugene Qualls III, 24, Wednesday night as officers were conducting surveillance on a car involving a wanted subject. Qualls, police say, was one of four people who allegedly beat a man around mid-afternoon September 25, 2022 at Taft Homes.
A spokesperson could offer no other details about the case, except that warrants were issued for the four, one of them being for Qualls. He’s now in the Peoria County Jail facing charges of Aggravated Battery, Possession of Cannabis, and Mob Action.
Police say Michael Eddy, Jr., 28, was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle was spotted going into a parking lot of a business that is believed to have had him in it.
Eddy, officials say, allegedly shot at another adult male October 18, 2022 on North Prospect Road near Springdale Cemetery. Eddy is jailed on charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Aggravated Assault, issued in a warrant.
