EAST PEORIA, Ill. — If you didn’t make it to East Peoria’s Festival of Lights Parade, you can see the floats all in one place starting Thanksgiving night (November 24).
Once your Thanksgiving feast is over, East Peoria’s Jill Peterson suggests bringing the family out to see the parade floats and all the other lighted displays at VFW Park, just off Springfield Road.
Folepi’s Winter Wonderland will be open each night through January 2nd.
“The hours are 5-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, when there are usually shorter lines, 5-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, you usually will have a wait those nights, and we’ll do 5-9 p.m. December 24 -January 2,” Peterson says.
The U.S.S. East Peoria is back for the first time in three years. It’s been rebulbed, repaired and put on a trailer for the first time.
The Toy Train float, carrying the replica of the “Great Christmas Light Fight” trophy, new last year, also returns to Folepi’s Winter Wonderland.
Peterson says there’s incentive to drive through Folepi’s Winter Wonderland on Mondays.
“Every Monday that the display is open is Chick-fil-A Monday, and every car that comes through will get free dessert coupons from Chick-fil-A East Peoria while supplies last,” Peterson says.
Admission is $10 a car, $30 for a small bus and $150 for a full-size charter motorcoach. Folepi’s Winter Wonderland is located at 123 Par 3 Lane, East Peoria (in VFW Post 2078 Park off Springfield Road).
