PEORIA, Ill. โ Peoria Police are investigating a Sunday night incident where multiple bullets were fired into a house.
Peoria Police says officers responded to the 700 block of E. Maywood at 11:23 P.M. after a Shot Spotter alert of four rounds fired in the area.
Officers were unable to find any evidence of gunfire at the location.
Shortly after that, police were told of a male resident in the 700 block of E. Buerkin who reported that his house was struck by gunfire.
The male told police that an unknown person was firing shots at his house, but he was not injured.
Officers reportedly counted 41 bullets that struck the house, including a gas line to the house. They counted around 81 shell casings outside the home. The gas line was shut off by the Peoria Fire Department and repaired by Ameren.
