MARSHALL, Minn. – A farm-retail store chain with two central Illinois locations will have new owners soon.
Minnesota-based Runnings is planning to purchase R.P. Home & Harvest. The purchase is expected to be complete by June.
R.P Home & Harvest has locations in Washington and Pekin.
Runnings Director of Marketing Lisa Svobodny says the purchase makes sense for them.
“It’s very similar kinds of merchandise, very similar customer, and then very similar kinds of communities as our other stores. So we expect the transition to be quite smooth as we move ahead,” Svobodny said.
Svobodny says the transition from R.P. Home & Harvest to Runnings should be completed within a year.
With the purchase, Runnings will expand to 80 stores in 12 states.
