WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Oversight Committee members have reviewed documents that allege President Joe Biden took money from a foreign company while he was Vice President.
FOX News reports Biden was allegedly paid $5 million by an executive of the Ukrainian natural gas firm, Burisma Holdings. Biden’s son, Hunter, sat on the firm’s board.
FOX News’ cities a confidential human source during a June 2020 interview with the FBI.
The source produced an FBI-generated FD-1023 form that alleges a criminal bribery scheme between then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national involved in influence over U.S. policy decisions.
The form also detailed multiple meetings and conversations the source had with a top Burisma executive since 2015.
The source details one conversation, suggesting to the executive they “pay the Bidens $50,000 each.” The executive allegedly replied, “not $50,000,” it is “$5 million.”
While the document does not say Joe Biden did not receive payments, Republicans on the committee who viewed it say it alleges a pay-to-play scheme where a Burisma executive paid the Bidens to gain United States oil rights. It also refers money going to Hunter Biden and indirectly to “the Big Guy,” who is alleged to be Joe Biden.
Biden has also previously acknowledged that while he was vice-president, he successfully pressured Ukraine to fire prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Burisma Holdings. Biden had reportedly threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid if Shokin was not fired.
Allies of Biden contend the firing was due to concerns Shokin was easy on corruption, and the firing was U.S. and international policy.
The White House maintains that President Biden has never been involved, nor discussed, Hunter’s business dealings. A statement Thursday called the allegations “a bunch of malarky.”
