PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters were called just before 10 p.m. Monday to a laundromat on N. Prospect Road, between E. Republic and E. Frye, finding heavy smoke coming from the front door.
Crews had the flames at Get The Funk Out Laundromat out in a matter of minutes.
The fire was isolated to several clothes dryers, but Fire Battalion Chief Thomas Sander said there was additional damage from smoke and water.
No one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
A fire investigator determined that the fire was unintentional.
Damage was estimated at $40,000.
No injuries were reported.
