PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria’s 16th homicide of the year has been recorded – with a death Saturday afternoon in Peoria’s North Valley.
Peoria Police say officers responded to an area of Northeast Madison Street near Alexander Avenue around 1:15 p.m. for a ShotSpotter alert of fifteen rounds fired.
Officials say an adult male was pronounced dead on scene, but did not say if there are suspects.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says the victim is 34-year-old Damarquis Richardson, and an autopsy will be held Monday.
