HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (FOX News) – The father of the Highland Park parade shooter must stand trial for reckless misconduct.
FOX News reports that was the decision by the judge in Robert Crimo Jr.’s case Monday.
Crimo Jr. faces seven counts of reckless misconduct for helping his son, Robert Crimo III, obtain a firearms permit, even after his son threatened violence.
The state of Illinois signed off on the permit as well.
The shooting during last year’s Fourth of July parade in Highland Park killed seven people and injured dozens.
Crimo Jr.’s lawyers argued prosecutors charged him under an unconstitutionally vague law.
Both Crimo’s have pleaded not guilty in their cases.

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – An Illinois judge could rule on Monday whether or not to grant a bench trial to the father of the suspected Highland Park mass shooter, who allegedly helped him get his firearms.
Fox News says the judge is expected to decide if accused gunman Robert Cremo, III’s father can be tried without a jury on charges helping his son with firearm purchasing permits, despite knowing he was mentally ill.
If the judge agrees, he could rule on Robert Cremo, Jr.’s guilt himself.
The younger Cremo is charged with killing seven people and injuring nearly 50 others at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park last year.
