GERMANTOWN HILLS, Ill. – One of the Peoria area’s state senators says redistricting is one of the reasons why he will not be seeking a third term in Springfield.
State Senator Win Stoller says for one, the 37th District has shifted, in his words, much further north, with his hometown of Germantown Hills now being at the southern tip of the district.
Second, the Republican says he believes in term limits, so he’s just imposed one on himself, saying he “never intended to be a career politician.”
Stoller says his biggest feat was passing tax cut legislation in his first few months, followed by more tax cut-related legislation last year.
He says while he’s been able to work in a bi-partisan way, he’s also been able to fight for “conservative principles.”
