PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – A several month long investigation led to what authorities described as “a true chop shop” after the execution of a search warrant Friday morning in rural Peoria County.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says a multi-agency search warrant was executed at around 8:30 A.M. on 7504 S. Hanna City Glasford Road. He says agencies involved include the Peoria Metropolitan Enforcement Group, the Central Illinois Emergency Response Team, the Greater Peoria Auto Crimes Task Force, and Peoria County Sheriff’s Office investigators.
Investigators found two stolen vehicles that were cut up into pieces, six cut catalytic converters, and more than 40 fraudulent vehicle titles. They also discovered methamphetamine, ketamine, scales, and packaging equipment.
36-year-old Robert Blue of Glasford was arrested for Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine over 15 grams, and Aggravated Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle valued over $25,000.
GPACT also charged Blue with the following:
- Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
- Unlawful Possession of a Title Document, Not Authorized,
- Unlawful Possession of a Title Document, Incomplete Assignment
- Unlawful Display of a Registration, Not Authorized
- Unlawful Possession of Catalytic Converter
Watkins says a male and a female were also arrested at the house on Fulton County warrants. All three were taken to the Peoria County Jail.
