PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man who was arrested on a host of charges following a weekend shooting outside a West Peoria bar, now only faces one charge, but it’s a serious felony.
Peoria County Sheriffs Deputies arrested Anthony Gates, 43, on five felony charges, but State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos says she only filed one Class-X Felony Count of Aggravated Battery.
A judge Monday set Gates’ bond at $150,000 and scheduled a Preliminary Hearing for October 5th.
Hoos claims Gates was being kicked out of Mike’s Tavern in West Peoria just before midnight Saturday night, when Gates allegedly fired a number of shots at an employee.
A car and house also were damaged.
Sheriffs Deputies say Gates was found walking in the area, and there was a gun located in his vicinity.
