PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Coroner has identified the victim in last night’s fatal shooting in Central Peoria.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Antonio Hardy, 33, was initially conscious and alert when the shooting happened prior to 8:30 p.m. Monday outside a gas station near Sheridan and McClure.
Harwood, however, says Hardy’s condition deteriorated, and he was pronounced dead in the operating room about two hours later.
An autopsy will be held Wednesday.
Police have not released any suspect information about the incident where a ShotSpotter alert indicated nine rounds were fired.
