Semi goes up in flames early Thursday morning in East Peoria. Here’s what we know

EAST PEORIA, Ill. – A semi truck and trailer are a total loss after a fire at Waste Management in East Peoria Thursday morning.

East Peoria Fire Chief Bobby Zimmerman says the semi caught fire around 3:10 a.m. at Waste Management’s Transfer Station on E. Washington Street.

No injuries were reported at the scene.

Damage to the semi truck and trailer is estimated at $300,000.

Zimmerman says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
