PEORIA, Ill. – One of six people injured in what was considered a mass shooting in Peoria more than a month ago has died.
That’s according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, who says Antonio Walker, 16, was pronounced dead at a Peoria hospital early Saturday morning.
Harwood says Walker suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
The shooting August 30th near Marquette and Westmoreland was one of a violent two days in Peoria where at least two other people also died.
In the first of what turned out to be three fatal shootings, 30 rounds were reportedly fired. An adult male also was left in critical condition for a time.
Police still have not said if there are suspects.
Peoria now has had 22 deaths by homicide this year.
