PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man will go to prison for most of the next 35 years after he pleaded guilty in August to a shooting involving a Peoria Police officer more than two years ago.
Court records indicate Tyrell Logan, 36, received the sentence Friday on charges of Aggravated Battery. He pleaded guilty to the charge in August.
Logan must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence before he can be considered for release.
Logan fired at a Peoria Police officer responding to a call of a fight at Taft Homes in August of 2021.
The officer had a leg injury, but it’s believed Logan had himself been shot during the incident.
Logan could have received as much as 60 years in prison.
