PEORIA, Ill. – An arrest has been made in connection to a fatal shooting last month in Central Peoria.
Peoria Police says 25-year-old Amorta Nelson was taken in for questioning Thursday, after being identified as a suspect in the death of 33-year-old Antonio Hardy.
Nelson was then arrested on First Degree Murder and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
The shooting occurred outside of a gas station in the area of Sheridan and McClure on the evening of Sept. 18th, just after 8:15 P.M. Officers responded after a Shot Spotter alert of nine rounds were fired in the area.
They arrived to find Hardy down with apparent gunshot wounds. Hardy was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
