PEORIA, Ill. – We’re learning more about what at least one side says caused Peoria’s 23rd homicide of the year Monday morning.
Peoria County State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos says in a statement that TNashia Wash, 18, had been arguing about her relationship with Roderick Richardson, 30, prior to Richardson being pronounced dead at the scene on North Ellis.
Hoos’ office says Richardson was shot at least a half-dozen times, not at close range, after Wash claimed her boyfriend said he was going to shoot the both of them.
Wash is jailed on First-Degree Murder charges. A detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
