PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man who was already imprisoned at the time of his arrest has been convicted of murder.
Peoria County Court records indicate Lionell Harris, 31, was found guilty Friday night by a jury of First-Degree Murder.
Harris, who had been in prison after being convicted on weapons charges in another case, was arrested in 2020 for the death two years prior of Daryl Keller, 36. Keller was shot in November of 2018 near Sand and Percy Baker, Jr. Ave., formerly Third Street, in South Peoria.
Harris will be sentenced December 14th, and reportedly faces anywhere from 45 years to life in prison. He already pleaded guilty to a charge of Aggravated Battery.
